England's and Wales' World Cup 2022 kick-off times, dates, TV channels

There is not long to go now until the 2022 World Cup kicks off in Qatar.

While this year's tournament won't have the long hot summer vibe of the 2018 World Cup, when scorching temperatures hit Britain as England made it to the semi-finals, there are still plenty of fanzones showing the matches, including the Central Park in Times Square, Newcastle.

Thankfully, Central Park will have heaters and shelter from elements. NX - the venue formerly known as the O2 Academy - will also screen the games.

With the year drawing to a close, you may well have some annual leave remaining to take. If you are watching the World Cup and plan to have a few drinks, it might be an idea to book some days off so you don't have to battle in hungover the next day.

Similarly, there are kick-off times that clash with the working day, including England and Wales matches.

World Cup 2022 kick-off times for UK TV

There are four kick off times during the World Cup.

The first two rounds of group games have 10am, 1pm, 4pm and 7pm GMT (UK time) kick-off times.

The third group stage games will kick off at 3pm and 7pm, as will all knockout games.

The semi-finals kick off at 7pm. The final, held in Doha on Sunday December 18, kicks off at 3pm.

England's World Cup 2022 match dates, times and TV

England's first match is against Iran on Monday November 21, 2022. It kicks off at 1pm GMT. The match will be shown on BBC.

England's second game in Group B will be against the USA on Friday November 25. It kicks off at 7pm GMT and will be televised on ITV.

England's final group-stage game is against Wales. It kicks off at 7pm on Tuesday November 29. BBC will broadcast the match.

Wales' World Cup 2022 match dates, times and TV

Wales' first group stage game will be played against the USA on Monday November 21. That kicks off at 7pm and will be shown on ITV.

Friday November 25, 2022 is set to be a long day in Wales, with the national team kicking off at 10am when they play Iran. That match, which will be Wales' second of the World Cup, will be shown on BBC.

Wales' final group stage game is arguably their biggest. They play England at 7pm on Tuesday November 29. That will be shown live on BBC
