Welcome to the Evening Standard’s LIVE coverage of the 2019 World Athletics Championships in Doha.
The USA enjoyed a terrific night in Doha as they added three more gold medals to their tally. Sam Kendricks won a thrilling men's pole vault competition, while Donovan Brazier and Noah Lyles won their first world titles, in the 800m and 200m, respectively.
There was heartbreak though for Great Britain's Adam Gemili, who finished fourth in 200m, three years after missing out on a medal in similar fashion at the Rio Olympics.
