ESPN freelancer knocked down by Davante Adams files police report

The man knocked over by the Las Vegas Raiders Davante Adams after Monday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs had filed a police report.

The man, who was a freelancer working for ESPN’s Monday Night Football, filed a report to Kansas City police, who said they will investigate the incident. The man was transported to a hospital, according to police, and was treated for injuries that were “preliminarily thought to be non-life threatening.”

He claimed he was the victim of an assault.

Police say they are investigating and following the completion of the probe, detectives “will coordinate with the applicable city or state prosecutor to determine any applicable charges.”

Adams apologized in the locker room for his actions.

“I want to apologize to the guy, there was some guy running off the field, and he ran, like jumped in front of me coming off the field and I bumped into him, kind of pushed him, and he ended up on the ground,” Adams said after the game. “So I wanted to say sorry to him for that because that was just frustration mixed with him literally just running in from of me.

“I shouldn’t have responded that way, but that’s how I initially responded. So, I want to apologize to him for that.”
