'Work with him': Neil Lennon pinpoints how 'inconsistent' Celtic man can improve

Former Celtic manager Neil Lennon says Adam Idah is too inconsistent and that he has to work on the training ground to improve his performances.

The striker started yet again for his side as they defeated St Mirren 5-2 last night, although he failed to offer much up front and was subbed off on 65 minutes.

Speaking ahead of Celtic's game in Paisley, Lennon outlined his current thoughts on Idah: "He's got good attributes," he said (Sky Sports).

"But he's too inconsistent at the minute."

He was then asked what he would do to help the 24-year-old improve: "Work with him on the training ground," said Lennon.

"You've got to get into his head. I think sometimes he switches off.

"His thinking has to be quicker and brighter. He's an instinctive kind of player."

Idah flourished after initially joining Celtic on loan from Norwich City last January.

He scored several big goals as Brendan Rodgers' men went on to win a domestic double.

The move was then made permanent in the summer as the Scottish Premiership champions shelled out a considerable £9m on Idah's services.

He has scored 13 goals in 41 appearances so far this season as we approach the run-in.
