Work starts on plan for new homes at former storage site in Stapleford

Work has started in a plan to build dozens of new family homes on the grounds of a former large goods vehicle storage site in Stapleford. Plans were put forward for the development in Nottingham Road last year.

Work has begun to prepare for 30 new homes at a former LGV storage site in Nottinghamshire after plans were submitted more than a year ago. Work has begun on the new 0.58 hectare development site by Sandicliffe Ltd, on 72 to 78 Nottingham Road, Stapleford.

Buildings previously on the site are being removed to accommodate the new homes, which will assist Broxtowe Borough Council's need for new additional housing. The development will see the construction of 19 single family houses and a small apartment building which will have a mix of one and two bed units.

The houses will be arranged in pairs throughout the site as to avoid appearing over intensive for the area. There will be parking close to each of the homes and a communal parking area for the apartment building, which will be positioned at the front of the site.

A wide mix of homes are expected from the site to cater for modern styles of living.
