Work set to begin on Uniqlo's flagship store in Glasgow

Work on the Glasgow flagship Uniqlo store is to begin next week.

The global fashion brand is coming to Glasgow and a Glaswegian company has been appointed to deliver the full services for the new store.

A Alexander Group will be working on the new Uniqlo store, which will be located in two adjacent buildings on Argyle Street.

The Japanese fashion store will be 22,500 square feet and will become apart of the St Enoch Centre.

The global brand currently has over 1000 stores around the world.

Stewart Alexander, managing director of A Alexander Group, said: "We are working with global company Tetris, to deliver this project on a design and build basis which is set to be a terrific addition to Glasgow’s retail offering.

"All the divisions of our business will be involved and we are looking forward to getting started on site."

Uniqlo is a casual clothing company, which was originally founded in Yamaguchi, Japan in 1949 as a textiles manufacturer.
