Wordle players lose their streaks trying to guess today’s ‘infuriating’ word

Wordle fans have shared their frustrations with today’s answer which left UK-based players having to “think like an American” in order to solve it.

“I just know a lot of streaks were lost today,” one person predicted as users tried to crack today’s puzzle - a word that you may not even have heard of unless you’ve spent time across the pond. As always each player had just six attempts to guess the correct five-letter word, but today's proved particularly tricky.

UK players were left Googling the answer, with some taking to social media to share their frustration at losing their hard-earned streaks. If you are yet to play Wordle today and don’t want the answer spoiled, beware - this is your last chance to look away.

Today’s Wordle answer was quart - for those who haven’t heard the word, it’s part of the imperial system of measurement which is used most commonly in the US. Used for liquid measurements, a quart is bigger than a pint, but smaller than a gallon - there are two pints in one quart, and four quarts in one gallon.

The word shot to the top of Google’s most searched phrases as frustrated Wordle players looked it up to check its meaning. And many took to social media to vent about the “infuriating” puzzle.

“Quart is not supposed to be in the Wordle list,” one person fumed on Twitter.

Another said: “I appreciate this is an American game… nevertheless, I disliked this a lot.”

The word left even seasoned players struggling to crack today’s game. “That was difficult. I think it’s the longest I’ve spent trying to solve,” one Twitter user admitted.

In fact, quart proved to be too tough for some Wordle fans. “After a 194-win streak, I finally lost Wordle for the first time,” one player lamented.
