A woman has been taken into custody after a Woolworths staff member was stabbed at a store in the Perth suburb of Ellenbrook.
The victim, a woman in her 40s, was rushed to Royal Perth Hospital under priority one conditions on Tuesday afternoon.
Her injury was serious but not life-threatening, a St John Ambulance spokeswoman said.
West Australian police said officers responded after being notified a staff member at the Ellenbrook store had received an injury consistent with a stab wound.
They said a woman was seen running from the store.
Police later advised a woman had been taken into custody in relation to the incident.
The store remains open, but police have cordoned off the area where the incident took place.
Woolworths said it was providing support to the employee and their loved ones.
"We'll also be offering counselling to other team members and we'll be assisting police as required," a company spokesperson said.
