This weekend Jesmond's Beach Box venue will be a paradise for pups as part of the first ever "Woof Weekender".
Organised by the Pop + Bark team - formerly known as Pug Cafe - the event will take place across Saturday August 6 and Sunday August 7. Dog-lovers off all ages are invited to enjoy some, hopefully, good weather in the Beach Box in a dog-friendly environment designed so dogs can safely roam off their leads.
Live music, street food from Beach Box's vendors, cocktails and even Pop + Bark's "pupuccino bar" will be on hand to keep dogs and humans fed and watered. The team behind the event have however emphasised that having a dog is not compulsory - you can head down to the event even if you're just a dog-lover from afar.

There will be some dedicated slots for particular dog breeds - dachshunds and dachshund crosses on Saturday from 12 'til 2, pugs and French bulldogs from 2 until 4, cockapoos and doodles on Sunday from 12. Later on Sunday will be a free-for-all with every breed welcome.
Anushka Fernando from Pop + Bark said: "The way to a dog's heart is officially through: food, pupuccinos and a safe space for them to be off-lead. So we'll be making it safe for them to roam and we'll also bring our famous Pop + Bark Pupuccino Bar to the Beach to whip up fresh pupuccinos.
"This is our first ever Beach Party and we knew we wanted to bring it to Newcastle first – Geordie people and dogs know how to party! Because every dog deserves a pupuccino and the chance to shine and play, we are opening up a time slot for every breed of dog. We cannot wait!"
