Eight men have been arrested on suspicion of shooting a 23-year-old dead including one teenage suspect trying to get a flight at City Airport.
Camilo Palacio suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the chest on High Road, Wood Green, at about 9.30pm on Sunday July 24.
Police, including firearms officers, immediately provided first aid until the arrival of London’s Air Ambulance and paramedics.
Mr Palacio, from Enfield, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene 30 minutes later.
His next of kin are being supported by specialist officers. There have been no arrests and enquiries continue.
On Monday, an 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder at City Airport. He has been taken to a police station where he remains in custody.
It came after a string of arrests as murder detectives spoke out against a “wall of silence” and warned people off hiding the killer.
On Sunday officers stopped a car in the Harlesden area. Two men, aged 27 and 64, were arrested on suspicion of murder. A 25-year-old woman was remanded in custody on suspicion of assisting an offender.
A 16-year-old was also arrested at a home in Hornsey. Armed officers were filmed storming his home, aiming assault rifles and urging the suspect to put his hands on his head and come out of the estate.
On the same day a car was pulled over in Margate by Kent Police. Two men, aged 30 and 24, were arrested on suspicion of murder alongside a 17-year-old male arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.
Mr Palacia’s murder followed another shooting just over four miles away in Waltham Forest.
Sam Brown, 28, took himself to hospital after being blasted at a music gathering of 50 to 100 people in Cheney Row Park. One man, in his 30s, has been arrested and bailed.
