Lynda Carter, better known for portraying Wonder Woman in the eponymous CBS show in the 1970s, has endorsed two Democratic candidates in the Arizona legislative race. But what makes the otherwise regular move is that they are running against her sister Pamela, a Republican.
Carter endorsed Kelli Butler and Karen Gresham for the two seats up for grabs in the Arizona State House. "Kelli and Karen are both strong, experienced candidates, born and raised in Arizona. They are working mothers fighting for the rights that matter most to Arizonans, especially every child's right to a quality education," she said in a publication on X.

Pamela Carter has not made any public comments regarding her sister's endorsement of her rivals. During her campaign she has focused on her history as a small-business owner and Arizonan roots. She owns a gym and hosted a fitness TV show, "Get in Shape with Pamela Carter."
"A reformer, small business owner, and lifelong Arizonan, Pamela has the skills and passions needed to fix what is broken in our state government and provide our state with excellent jobs, schools, and quality of life," reads a passage of her campaign website.
She also criticized her "liberal democrat opponents," who, she said, "champion Joe Biden's open border policies." "Our open borders are allowing human trafficking, drugs (including fentanyl), gangs, drugs, and violence to pour across our border, in record-setting quantities. This puts us all at risk," it adds.
Despite not being supported by her sister, Carter has been endorsed by real estate trade groups in the state and Latinos United for Conservative Action. She will also face Matt Gress, a Republican who holds one of the 4th District's two seats and is running for re-election.
