Australia have enjoyed another convincing win to storm into the women's teams table tennis quarter-finals at the Commonwealth Games.

They beat the Maldives 3-0 on Saturday morning for a perfect record in the group stage.

That followed 3-0 wins on Friday over Malaysia and Mauritius.

The legendary Jian Fang Lay combined with Minhyung Jee to win their doubles games 3-0.

Then Yangzi Liu and Jee also won their singles 3-0 to quickly wrap up the match.

"We know we have a very strong women's team and we've prepared really well," said coach John Murphy.

"When we saw the draw, it was quite a tough one, to claim Malaysia in the group.

"It helped us, because we came with some nerves. Coming through that match, winning 3-0, was a really strong start for us and it gave us the confidence to follow on.

"We're really ready for the quarter-final. It's no secret, we're here to be on the podium."

The young Australian men's team had a tough day on Friday, losing to Malaysia 3-1 before fighting their way to a 3-2 win over Canada.

They play Mauritius on Saturday in their last group match.
