Women’s World Cup: When is USA’s next match?

The US have one group match left in the World Cup 2023 campaign and will take on Portugal in Auckland.

Having already played Vietnam and now the Netherlands, Vlatko Andonovski’s team is hoping for a strong finish to the first stage and to go all the way in Australia and New Zealand.

The twice defending champions have faced a challenging group E and will be keen to finish top of the table to avoid stronger opponents in the round of 16.

Portugal and the US have played four times over the years and the Americans have won all of them, with their last win being a 1-0 result in 2021.

Here is all we know about their next match.

When does the US play in their next Women’s World Cup match?

The US will play Portugal on Tuesday August 1 at 8am, British time, in Auckland in New Zealand. The other group E decider, between Vietnam and the Netherlands, will be played at the same time in Dunedin.

How can I watch the US play Portugal?

The US game against Portugal will be on ITV, as will the other match in group E as Vietnam plays the Netherlands.

Later on Tuesday, England will play China – a game to be shown on ITV – while the other group D game of Haiti v Denmark will also be on ITV.

How will the US and Portugal line up?

While the final line-ups are at the discretion of the managers, both sides are close to deciding their first XIs for the tournament.

In their first match against Vietnam, the US played (4-3-3): Naeher; Fox, Ertz, Girma, Dunn; DeMelo, Sullivan, Horan; Rodman, Morgan, Smith.
