The women’s dinghy medal race at the Olympics was delayed by more than an hour due to low winds. The race, which was supposed to start at 2:43 p.m. local time (9:43 a.m. ET), was postponed as there was only a 'very low' four knots of wind, according to the Olympics website.

Following the delay of the women’s race, the men’s race, scheduled to begin at 3:43 p.m. local time (8:43 a.m. ET) after the conclusion of the women’s event, is also expected to be delayed. With the current wind conditions, it may take some time before the men’s race can get underway.
