Women declared dead after heart attack 'dies of shock' after waking up in coffin

A woman who was wrongly declared deceased by doctors died of a heart attack from shock after waking up in a coffin at her own funeral.

Fagilyu Mukhametzyanov, from Kazan, Russia, was just 49 when she collapsed at home suffering from chest pains in 2011.

Her husband, 51-year-old Fagilyu Mukhametzyanov, opted for an open coffin funeral for his wife following her collapse, which was reported by numerous sources as being fatal.

However, the grief-stricken lover was in for a shock when he went to say his final goodbye to have his wife spring back to life in front of him.

After hearing mourners pray for her soul, then opening her eyes to find herself in the bizarre situation, Mrs Fagilyu started screaming.

Her shocked husband described how they immediately rushed her back to the hospital, but she only lived for another 12 minutes in intensive care before she died again - “this time for good”.

"I am very angry and want answers,” he said.

“She wasn’t dead when they said she was and they could have saved her."

Hospital spokesman Minsalih Sahapov said an investigation would be carried out into the bizarre incident.

It's not the first time the dead have seemingly had a second wind during their final farewells.

Earlier this month The Mirror reported on a woman who shocked mourners at her funeral by banging on the coffin and showing signs of life.

Rosa Isabel Cespedes Callaca, who was pronounced dead after a car crash, interrupted her own funeral with stunned family members hearing a noise from her coffin at the service in the city of Lambayque in Peru.

She had been announced as a fatal casualty after being involved in a catastrophic crash which also took the life of her brother-in-law, reported the Daily Star.

Her three nephews were left with serious injuries following the incident which took place on the region’s Chiclayo-Picsi road.

Following the tragedy, Rosa was placed into a coffin ahead of her funeral last Tuesday, but mourners gasped when they heard noises at the start of the service.

Her relatives, who had lifted the coffin onto their shoulders, immediately lowered it and opened the lid to find her alive and peering at them.

Cemetery caretaker Juan Segundo Cajo commented: "[She] opened her eyes and was sweating. I immediately went to my office and called the police."

Her family picked up the coffin and took it to the Referential Hospital Ferrenafe in Lambayeque, with Rosa still inside, reports the Metro.

Concerned medics put Rosa on life-support after they noticed she had weak signs of life but she sadly died a few hours later.

Her family are calling on healthcare bosses for answers to find out why she was declared dead "in the first place".

Her aunt told local media: "We want to know why my niece reacted yesterday, when we were taking her to be buried.

"We have the videos in which she pushes and touches the coffin."

Rosa's relatives believe she may have been in a coma after the accident which could be the reason medics thought she was dead.

Police in Peru are now investigating the incident, which took place at the Lambayeque Regional Hospital where she first received treatment.
