Woman works out what '23-19' from Monsters, Inc. means - and blows people's minds

When we were younger, there were numerous scenes in film and television that would go straight over our heads.

And it's often the case now that when we rewatch certain things as adults, we pick up on all the jokes and innuendos we missed.

This was the case for one woman recently while watching the Pixar movie, Monsters, Inc.

The woman, named Fyiya, was on the scene where the monster George Anderson comes out of a child's room with a white sock stuck to his back and one of his colleagues shouts "We have a 23-19!"

This prompts the CDA to tackle the emergency, shaving George's fur off to decontaminate him after he came into contact with an item from the human world.

But what exactly does 23-19 mean? Fyiya has a genius theory.

Taking to TikTok she shared her realisation.

In the clip, she says: "Oh my god. I was today years old when I realised when I used to watch Monsters, Inc. I used to be like 'what the hell is a 23-19?'

"The 23rd letter in the alphabet is W and the 19th letter is S.

"Standing for white socks. Yep."

Her video quickly went viral, being watched over 400,000 times.

Thousands of people liked and commented on the post, with many in disbelief that they too hadn't realised this sooner.

One replied: "I'm also today years old."

Another said: "I did not know that."

"You learn something new every day," wrote a third.

"That just blew my mind," proclaimed a fourth.

A few others shared more interesting facts about the significance of the numbers as well.

Someone else posted: "2319 is in all Pixar movies because it's the Studio number that the producers start off in."

A different user added: "It's also the code for copyright infringement law and hidden in lots of movies that have broken it."

Guess we'll have to start looking out for these numbers in more Disney Pixar films now!
