Woman with bike punched to the ground outside east London train station

Police are hunting a man who punched a woman in the face at an east London Overground station in broad daylight.

The woman was heading down a stairwell with her bike at Leytonstone High Road Overground Station around 8.30am on Sunday June 2 when a man approached her and pushed her.

Once outside the station, he punched her in the face causing her to fall to the ground.

British Transport Police on Wednesday released a CCTV image of a man they believe “may have information that could help their investigation”.

Anyone who recognises him, or has any other information, is asked to contact British Transport Police by texting 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference 250 of 3 June.

Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
