Woman who wrote off rare £300,000 Lamborghini supercar fined £40

A woman who wrote off a £300,000 supercar was hauled to court and fined £40.

Kayleigh Finnie, a mental health worker who was driving an Alfa Romeo, crashed into a yellow Lamborghini Aventador, a rare model favoured by the likes of Justin Bieber, Cristiano Ronaldo and Kanye West.

Debris was strewn across the road and the 2016 Lamborghini, which can cost up to £300,000 second hand and has a top speed of 217mph, was thought to be damaged beyond repair. Police closed off the road in Waltham, Grimsby, for two-and-a-half hours after being called at about 4pm on Monday, July 5, 2021, Hull Live reports.

The Lamborghini was left lying across the road after the accident, close to dark skid marks and churned up verges. The Alfa Romeo was left several hundred metres away at the side of the road and remained at the scene long after the supercar had been removed.

Humberside Police posted on Facebook: "Luckily nobody has sustained serious injuries." Finnie, 36, of Grainthorpe, Lincolnshire, appeared at Grimsby Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, December 7 charged with driving without due care and attention in relation to the incident.

She admitted the offence, was given three points on her licence and fined £40. She was also ordered to pay a £34 victim surcharge.
