Woman who threw up in Asda due to fear of custard takes bath in it on This Morning

This is the moment a woman with a phobia of custard climbed into a bath of the 'yellow stuff' on live television after overcoming her fear - and has even got a tattoo which says "custard lady".

Just last month, Michelle, from Manchester, called in to get help with her custard fear and asked resident This Morning therapists The Speakmans for advice to combat her fear and promised, if they helped her, she would get a bath in it.

As she gagged on live television unable to even say the word, it left presenters Rochelle and Phil in hysterics with Phil later apologising.

Eva Speakman spoke to the caller named Michelle in January and said: "What I see here - and it might sound a little bit odd - but I see both you and the custard as equal victims here."

On social media on Thursday, the Speakmans referred to today's show as 'custard day' and showed a clip of Michelle throwing up in a supermarket.

But, after just 15 minutes with the Speakmans, Michelle claims she was cured of the phobia and was even able to eat it.

On Thursday's show, Nik Speakman said: "In 24 years of helping people, this is the strongest reaction we've ever seen. Michelle is physically sick at the mere thought of the yellow stuff."

But it was soon time to take the plunge - into the bath of custard - on Thursday and prove she was over her fear.

"So Michelle, I never thought I would say this but, please get into your bath of custard," Phil said. "It's like being back on Saturday morning."

Holly added: "In you pop."

Michelle then willingly got into the custard bath, even licking some off her finger once in the tub.

This Morning later shared a video clip of Michelle in the bath, branding her the "Custard Cream queen".

While The Speakmans Tweeted: "Custard queen. Such a joy to help Michelle overcome her 42-year unusual phobia that totally gripped the nation!"
