Woman who left hopeful note for 'fit bus driver' comes forward

A woman behind a hopeful note left for a "fit bus driver" has come forward. Donna Suter left the note for the motorist in order to grab his attention last weekend when she was with her pal, Ryan Mendelson.

She had been discussing dating while enjoying dunner with Ryan before the 531 bus pulled up outside their cafe. Quickly, both of their eyes were drawn to the driver.

The 38-year-old mum-of-two told Manchester Evening News: "I've been on the scene for quite a while and I had downloaded Hinge, that's where the conversation started. Then we sat down outside and this bus pulled up.

"We said 'oh my god, that bus driver is fit'. Ryan tried to flag it down down to get his number for me, but unfortunately the bus went away."

Donna made her own attempts to catch the driver's attention before Ryan chased his vehicle down the road. The pair debated on whether they should have waited for the driver to return but as they noticed the motor driving away, they turned against it.

Instead, they grabbed a pen and wrote a note, reading: "Hey fit bus driver, call me" alongside a specific phone number Ryan uses for dating apps. "I don't think he has switched the phone on since funnily enough," she said. "He's definitely not switching it on now it's gone viral."

While the bold attempt at finding love appears to be a hopeful punt, Donna believes the bus driver in question will know it's meant for him. "He must know because when he passed I was smiling at him," she added.

"I did the hand gesture for 'call me', he must know it was me." Despite recently downloading Hinge, Donna 'absolutely hates' dating apps. Instead, she's hoping her more traditional approach could help bring her five-year single spell to a close with the bus driver of her dreams.

"I think [dating apps] are all judging a book by its cover," Donna added. "I can't stand them, I find them all catfishy. I think people think there are too many options out there.

"It's quite easy for people to say 'I don't like the way you type'. I think chivalry needs to come back again."
