The clip, which has racked a staggering 2.2 million views overnight, shows Jax (@jaxwritessongs) alongside her violinist friend, Lindsey Stirling. In a hilarious turn of events, she transforms her ex’s “BS” cheating excuse, who just “wanted a chance to explain”, into a dramatic monologue complete with a sad violin backing track.
The text read, “I know it wasn’t right that I ‘technically’ hooked up with your roommate”, excusing his infidelity for him “going through a lot.” This raised a few eyebrows and prompted fellow users to question, “How does one differentiate between ‘technically’ and ‘actually’ hooking up with someone?”
He went on to share he had been “failing most of his classes” and got fired from his job, before gaslighting his ex-girlfriend to show “some sort of sympathy and stop making [him] feel like a villain.”
“I’ve was just really missing you and it was a one time mistake”, he added before the pair burst out into a stunningly catchy performance.

The viral clip led to an influx of responses, with one user calling it “the funniest thing [they’ve] seen all week.”
“This is why TikTok was invented,” another added. “It has everything. Drama. Great interpretive reading. Inspirational music. Harmonising. Two badass women. Netflix”
Others were quick to point out the questionable contents of the apology. One highlighted that he never actually apologised, while another said: “Did he seriously say ‘I’m sorry, but this is your fault too.’”
