Woman turned bedsit into 'Britain's filthiest home' because she has a phobia of BIN BAGS

A woman's bedsit became 'Britain's filthiest home' and took three days to clean because she has a phobia of bin bags.

Professional grimebuster Joe Cole was left stunned after his clearance firm, JGD Pro Solutions, was forced to 'fight their way into' the one-bedroom property in the Portsmouth area.

He recalled being surrounded in a 'nest' of four-foot-deep smelly rubbish, as it took the 43-year-old three days to clear the property.

Shocking images show the combined living room and bedroom piled halfway to the ceiling with rubbish - so deep the bed can't even be seen.

And the bathroom floor was covered with packaging and the kitchen units were crammed with clutter, appearing to leave no room to prepare food.

Mr Cole claims the woman admitted she had a 'phobia of black bin bags' and so couldn't clean up the mess herself - despite numerous being spotted strewn among the heaps of waste.

After the impressive clean-up, which involved shifting rubbish around 4ft deep, the business owner says his customer cried with joy as she'd 'got her home back'.

He even posted a video of the transformation on TikTok, where he branded the houses the 'dirtiest in the UK'. Since posting the video, it has been viewed more than 25,000 times.

Speaking about the clean-up, Mr Cole said: "She said she had a phobia of black bags. It was absolutely ridiculous, I've never heard anything like it before.

"Usually people aren't embarrassed about their property being like that but this girl was.

"Her bed was completely covered and she was sleeping in the middle of the room. There was a nest in the middle and she slept in that.

"It must have been building up for about two years over lockdown. The bath was full of waste so she mustn't have showered in that time."

He continued to explain that there was rubbish half-way up the wall in the lounge, and a quarter of the way up in the hallway and in the bathroom and kitchen.

The professional cleaner added: "I had to fight my way into the house. There was packaging and food waste everywhere, she'd have had to climb over it to get to her nest in the middle.

"When I walked in I thought 'oh my god, you can't get much worse than that'. It was smelly too.

"She cried at the end because she'd got her home back."

The clean-up, which Joe tackled in March 2022, has earned him admirers online who have praised his team's 'miraculous' work.

One commented: "You guys really put so much effort in, don't you. Well done guys. You do absolutely incredibly."

A second wrote: "You work miracles."
