Woman to appear in court charged in relation murder of pensioner in Dublin city centre

Gardai have charged the woman who was arrested on suspicion of murder of a pensioner in Seville Place, Dublin 1.

The body of Mary Bergin, known as Maura, was discovered by gardai on Wednesday morning.

A woman in her 40s was later arrested and detained at Store Street Garda Station.

She has since been charged and is due to appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice this morning.

A garda spokeswoman said: "Gardaí have charged the woman, aged in her 40s, who was arrested on Wednesday 13th April 2022 following the discovery of the body of a woman at a residence in Seville Place, Dublin 1.

"She is due to appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice this morning, Friday 15th April 2022 at 10.30am."
