An expectant father recently realised he and his pregnant wife just couldn't afford the expense of her pricey cravings, which have seen her request ribeye steak every single day.
Having previously spent around £58 ($70) on a weekly food shop, the couple is now spending more than £124 ($150) to satisfy her cravings, which has been especially tough going given the rise in fuel prices.
The dad-to-be - who says they've stopped eating out altogether to cut down on costs - explained to his wife they could no longer afford to eat the way she has been doing.
The couple has been spending around £35 ($42) each week on avocadoes alone. On top of her daily three large avocados plus steak dinner, the wife also craves blueberries, cherries, and salmon. The combined costs have quickly added up.
She's now responded to his concerns by telling him to sell his video games and bike, which he doesn't think is fair at all.

Taking to Reddit, the worried husband - who goes by the username u/sndkso - said: "I only have a few games as we already sold some and my bike is only worth a couple hundred.
"I don’t think it’s fair I have to sell everything I love when she can easily grow our baby with less expensive foods. We are both working atm but soon she will be on unpaid leave and I will have to support us and we need some savings before that happens.
"We had a big fight about it and I’m afraid the stress of it will harm the baby but we can’t afford our grocery bill. Even if we go to the food bank I highly doubt it will stock the food she wants."
One fellow Reddit user advised: "Cravings are one thing, insisting your spouse sell his possessions to feed you is quite another. Either she reigns in her cravings or she starts looking at her own items to sell to finance her avocado affinity."
Another said: "I don't think you should characterise her growing your baby as 'easy', however, because it is really not easy to, you know, grow an entire person in your body and you simply cannot relate.
"That said, she is entirely unreasonable to (a) expect your family to live outside your means and (b) sell your own hobby items off to assuage her cravings. She can absolutely exercise moderation; pregnancy is not an excuse for fiscal irresponsibility - especially with a kid on the way."
