A woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries following a horror collision on the A19 in North Tyneside.
Emergency crews were in attendance at the scene of the crash on the A19 in North Tyneside, near the Holystone Roundabout from just before 9pm yesterday (August 14). The road was partially closed by officers at the scene following the incident.
A car was found to have flipped over and a woman, who was driving the vehicle, was taken to hospital for further treatment after she was found to have sustained serious injuries.

The road traffic collision (RTC) involving a single vehicle is thought to have occurred on the slip road joining the A19. Northumbria Police and Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue confirmed they were in attendance at the scene, along with North East Ambulance Service personnel.
A North East Ambulance Service spokesperson said last night that a vehicle had rolled over and one person had been taken to hospital.
They said: "We have reports that this vehicle has rolled over. We sent two ambulances to the scene."
Northumbria Police confirmed: "There's a partial lane blockage and officers are on the scene."
A Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue spokesperson added: "There's been an RTC involving a single vehicle. We are at the scene along with the police and ambulance service."
Today, a Northumbria Police spokesperson confirmed that a woman had been taken to hospital as a result of serious but non-life threatening injuries.
They said: “At about 8.50pm yesterday (Sunday), we received a report of a one vehicle collision near the Holystone roundabout.
“The female driver of the vehicle was taken to hospital with a serious but non-life threatening injury.”
A North East Ambulance Service spokesperson today added: "We were called to reports of a road traffic collision on the A19 northbound at 8.50pm on 14 August.
"We dispatched two ambulance crews and took one patient to Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital for further treatment."
