Woman taken to hospital after attack near Glastonbury play park

A woman was rushed to hospital with a fractured wrist and concussion after being attacked near a play park.

Police are appealing for a female witness, who had two young children with her, to come forward following the unprovoked attack. Investigating offers say the attacker pushed her from her bicycle as she rode on Cinnamon Lane, Glastonbury around 4.20 pm on Saturday, February 19.

The man then proceeded to punch her repeatedly in the head before walking off in the direction of Kennard Moor Drove as the woman made off to the nearby Cinnamon Lane Play Area to seek help.

Avon and Somerset Police are keen to keen to trace the woman who was at the play park with two children and a dog and who supported the victim following the assault.

The attacker is described as white, mid-40s, about 5ft 6ins tall and stocky. He also appeared to be clean-shaven with wide cheekbones and a “jutting” chin. He wore dark-coloured clothing including a beanie hat, hip-length jacket and trousers.

Officers have been carrying out regular patrols of the area since and there have been no further incidents reported.
