A Liverpool woman said she tackled discrimination and social stigma to showcase diversity and inclusion for others.
Dionne Da Costa has now been shortlisted for the Positive Role Model for Faith Race and Religion at the National Diversity Awards which will be held in Liverpool this week. Ms Da Costa was shortlisted from 72,000 people nominated for this year's awards.
Role models and community organisations from across the UK will take part in the event at Liverpool's Anglican Cathedral on September 16 to witness the 2022 winners crowned the best of British diversity. Charities, campaigners and activists who work to challenge and combat injustice and discrimination will be amongst those honoured.

Having worked in film, TV and fashion Dionne told the ECHO : "In my shows I showcase models who are differently abled and from varying ethnic backgrounds. Its important to be inclusive and diverse".
Dionne said: "I've always been a deeply spiritual person who believes in spreading a message of peace and love. Diagnosed with a mental health condition and being of an ethnic minority I've faced and tackled the social stigma and disadvantage of discrimination from society associated with mental health and race.
"It's humbling to see that the resulting positive impact has been recognised by the public after receiving a nomination and reaching the finals of the 2022 Positive Awards".

Previous winners include: domestic abuse charity WAVES Counselling Project, Black Girls Hike founder Rhiane Fatinikun and actor Warwick Davis.
Dionne concluded: "I'm really looking forward to spending the evening with so many inspiring people."
