“I Told Her To Never Do It Again”: Woman Gets Dumped Over A “Little Mistake” On The Road

Going on a road trip in the passenger seat means you may have to work as a navigator, DJ, and snack distributor.

However, when Reddit user Few_Relative4595 took his girlfriend for a drive, she decided to become a tickler. While he was behind the wheel!

Because of that, the couple got into a minor accident. But the guy couldn’t make peace with her reckless attitude and told her to pack her bags and get out after they came back home.

With his emotions subsided, he started having doubts about what happened, so he made a post on the subreddit r/AITAH, describing everything in detail, and asking its members how they think he should’ve reacted.

The Automobile Association (AA), the UK’s largest motoring organization with over 14 million members, advises passengers to be mindful of the conversations they have with the driver.

“We’re not advocating a vow of silence as soon as you hit the road, but you should try and make yourself aware of the extent of the driver’s workload,” the AA writes. “Whether you’re just nipping to the high street or off on a road trip, a driver has to juggle complex junctions and other drivers around them, as well as keeping an eye out for all signs or turnings; even the most skilled of multi-taskers would need their full attention.”

“It’s always smart to be considerate with your [interactions]. Try to wait for quieter stretches of road, or when you’re waiting in traffic, before going in for a chin wag. And it’s probably best to avoid engaging in political disputes or debating whose turn it is to take the bins out. Winning an argument isn’t worth the driver losing control.”

Many do not realize how far they can travel when the driver is distracted. The reality is that motorists can cover the equivalent of an entire football field blind if they take their eyes off the road for just five seconds when they are traveling at 55 mph (89 kmh). With so much ground cleared, it’s not a surprise that the risks of a crash become high.

In fact, approximately 3,000 people lose their lives and another 300,000 are injured in car accidents resulting from distracted drivers in the United States alone. This accounts for between 8% and 9% of all fatal motor vehicle collisions on roads across the country.

Whether or not you think the breakup was warranted, it’s clear that the woman shouldn’t have endangered herself and her boyfriend in such a careless manner.
