Authorities in Los Angeles are investigating a tragic incident involving a woman who fatally stabbed her partner at their apartment before throwing her two children from a moving SUV onto the freeway, resulting in the death of her infant daughter. The woman, identified as a 34-year-old astrologer and online influencer known as 'Ayoka,' had posted about the solar eclipse in the days leading up to the violence.
The Los Angeles Police Department revealed that the altercation between the woman, Danielle Cherakiyah Johnson, and her partner occurred in Woodland Hills. Following the stabbing, Johnson fled with her two children in a Porsche Cayenne, driving along Interstate 405 in Culver City. She then threw her daughters out of the moving vehicle, resulting in the tragic death of the infant and injuries to the older child.
Johnson later crashed into a tree in Redondo Beach, with authorities investigating the crash as a possible suicide attempt. Her social media posts leading up to the incident included cryptic messages about the apocalypse, alongside astrological predictions and positive affirmations.
Neighbors described Johnson as somewhat reclusive, with no prior police calls to the couple's apartment. Detectives found candles and cards inside the residence, possibly related to tarot cards. The LAPD emphasized that the solar eclipse was not considered a direct cause of the violence, despite Johnson's online references to the celestial event.
The tragic incident has left the community in shock, with authorities highlighting the need for mental health awareness and support. While the eclipse sparked fears of the apocalypse globally, law enforcement stressed that most individuals who expressed concerns about the event did not resort to violence.
