Woman shares two-ingredient hack to help keep your home dust-free for longer

Just when you think your home is spick and span, you might find a spot of dust that just completely ruins the clean vibes. Whether it's building up on your perfume bottles, on the top of your wardrobes where you can't see, or living on your lamp, dust is something that feels almost impossible to rid your space of.

One TikToker has shared a hack that could see your surfaces become dust-free for longer, however. Posting under the name @ vicolsfamilyhouse shared the brilliant way she manages to keep the dust at bay using just two simple ingredients which you most likely already have in your house.

The woman adds water into a jug and then some fabric softener to make a solution that she claims will 'repel' dust from surfaces that would normally see a build-up within a couple of days.

She then takes a cloth, submerges it into the solution and starts to wipe the surfaces in her house down. She also wrote over the video: "It will smell amazing".

People were relieved to learn about the dust-stopping hack and were praising it in the comments.

One wrote: "I've heard that it helps and leaves a wonderful fragrance."

Someone explained how it works, writing: "Fabric softener's job is to essentially put a layer of wax on clothes and works the same way on surfaces."

One TikToker asked: "Does it work on vents too? My vents and ceiling fans get dusty so fast." @vicolsfamilyhouse responded saying it did work on those too. She also explained that you need mainly water and just a little bit of softener for the best effect.

"Whatttttttttt omg such a smart, smart idea!", someone praised.

"I love this, I do it weekly", one TikToker wrote.
