Woman shares pepper chopping trick that will stop you getting seeds everywhere

Chopping up fruit and vegetables isn't exactly complicated, but certain items can be more annoying than others - especially the ones that have an abundance of seeds.

One of the most irritating veggies to chop has to be the humble bell pepper, as it seems like no matter how you cut it, you're going to have to spend time hovering over your bin while flicking out the dozens of tiny seeds that get stuck to the inside.

But as one woman on TikTok has found, there may be an easier way to get rid of most of the seeds in seconds - and you have to start by turning the pepper upside down.

The woman started by splitting the pepper into four sections (@nursewholikestocook/TikTok)

The woman, named Grace, shared a video in which she showed off her "easy hack" to chopping peppers, which first saw her make a cross shaped incision into the bottom of the pepper to create four sections.

Next, the woman - who posts under the username @nursewholikestocook - opened up the pepper using the cuts she'd made so that the four sections came apart from the seed ball in the middle.

All that's left to do is chop each of the sections off and throw away the seeds left in the middle - before you can then chop your seed-free sections into thin slices or chunks.

People in the comments of Grace's video were thankful to her for sharing the trick, as many of them said they would be trying it out for themselves.

She then cut off each section before slicing (@nursewholikestocook/TikTok)

One person said: "Oh wow, the amount of time I've wasted."

While another added: "Sweet baby Jesus. The most intelligent thing I have seen on TikTok today! Yay! So excited."

And a third wrote: "Why do I only see this now? I needed this a long time ago."

There were also comments from some people who shared alternative methods for chopping peppers without mess, including one hack that involves pushing the stem inside the pepper.

Someone explained: "The best way is to push the centre core down and then rip the sides off. Works so well and no waste."

As someone else suggested: "Nah! Push the stalk into the pepper with your thumb, tap on your hand with the hole facing your hand seeds and the lot comes out."

Meanwhile, several others made comments about the pepper at the start of Grace's video, as they noted that the open pepper with the seeds still attached reminded them of the Demogorgon creature from Stranger Things.
