A woman has shared her unique method to peeling a hard boiled egg perfectly - but some foodies aren't so keen on the idea.
Amy Whittington, who can be found on social media under the username @amywhittington927, took to TikTok to share her simple hack which could save you a lot of faffing when it comes to peeling your egg.
Her clip has since gone viral as it has been seen by over six million people and been liked over half a million times.
While some have not been blown away by the simple trick, others now swear by it and will be using it whenever they peel a hard boiled egg in future.
In the clip, Amy explains that all you need to do is carefully tap the membrane of the egg with a spoon, without breaking the shell.
Amy, 38, said: "I learned of this hack a long while ago, I overheard an older lady talking about it and I honestly thought she was a little crazy and didn't believe her. I decided to try it after trying to peel freshly laid eggs when I boiled them.
"They all stuck to the shells so badly and I couldn't stand wasting so much perfectly good egg. Once I tried it, I was stunned! I couldn't believe how easy it was to peel the eggs… even ones laid the same day!
"I immediately told my mum about it and she tried it too! It was a real game changer!"
When she revealed her hack on social media, not everyone was quite so supportive, however.
One person said: "I did this experiment to dozens of eggs and there was no difference."
Another wrote: "Just like many people that tried this, all of my eggs cracked in the water while boiling. What a complete waste."
Jenny agreed, saying: "Doesn't work for me! I hear the noise, but they still won't peel right."
However, some were amazed by the trick and vowed to use it the next time they are making eggs.
Catherine said: "Totally works. Thank you! I'll never do it any other way now."
Jo added: "Just tried this and it worked for two eggs!!! Thanks for the hack, nothing worse than peeling half the egg away, no matter how careful you are."
