Woman shares 'game-changing' travel hack that uses AI to plan out entire holiday

If you're going anywhere on holiday this year, it's likely you've been trawling the internet looking for the ideal places to stay, eat and general sights to see.

But it can be difficult to put together a schedule that fits in everything that you want to do - especially if you're going in a large group.

And sometimes, if you're going somewhere completely new, it can be hard for inspiration to strike to scope out the things that are actually worth doing.

But one woman found a "genius" way to do this that requires minimal time and effort, as it utilises the handy site ChatGPT - which is an AI tool trained to follow instructions and provide detailed responses - to do all of the hard work.

TikTokker @_sierrakatherine was planning a girls' trip to Italy when she stumbled upon the hack, wondering why she "hadn't thought of it before".

Keen for others to take inspiration and try the trick themselves, she made a quick video showing how she did it and some of the results that ChatGPT brought up.

In the clip's caption, Sierra explained: "As someone who HATES planning I'm using chatgpt for every trip from now on..."

She typed into the chat box: "Make me an itinerary for a trip from May 2 - May 17 for three 21 year olds. We want to fly into and out of Rome and see at least 5 different cities. Include restaurants and make it budget friendly."

In an instant, ChatGPT began to build a detailed schedule full of things to do, see and eat for Sierra and her friends.

It split the trip amongst places like Venice, Naples and Cinq Terre, suggesting how long to stay there for and fun things to do in each place. Some of these included visiting Pompeii in Naples, taking a gondola ride through the canals of Venice and taking in the culture at the Ponte Vecchio in Florence.

As per the instruction, it also named budget-friendly places to eat for each destination and even an extensive list of things to pack for the trip, such as toiletries, electronics, money and a travel pillow, leaving Sierra and the video's viewers thoroughly impressed.

The comments were soon full of people tagging their pals, keen to try this hack out the next time it came to planning a holiday.

One person said: "I did this as a base for Barcelona then tweaked bits or added things in! It's so handy especially if you don't know where to start."

Another commented: "This is so smart!"

A third tagged their friend saying: "Solves all our problems," to which they replied: "Wtffff this is a game changer."

Would you try this for your next holiday? Let us know in the comments.
