A woman has revealed a quick hack for getting rid of stubborn limescale on the bottom of your kettle - and it only costs 60p.
The kettle is one of the most popular kitchen appliances, with many people using it to make a cup of tea or coffee multiple times a day. But as useful as they are, over time, limescale can form on the base - which can alter the taste of your drinks and even harbour dangerous bacteria.
According to TikTokker @Lucykalice, all you need to get your kettle sparkling again is a staple household ingredient and a couple of minutes to wait.
The content creator posts frequent cleaning videos, sharing tips and tricks with her 23.6 thousand followers.
In one of her latest clips, she said she was starting the "big Christmas deep clean" - and tackling the kettle was her first task.
Showing the inside of her kettle, which was covered in unsightly limescale, she said: "I really just wanted to get it out and make it all fresh.
"I started by pouring some lemon juice in there, I just used bottled but you can use a fresh lemon, it works as well."
Lucy then filled up the kettle with water and popped it on to boil as normal, letting it sit for 30 minutes afterwards.
After rinsing out the water, she showed off the inside of the kettle - which was completely clear of limescale and looked as good as new.
The TikTokker continued: "Then I just wiped down the kettle, and then the kettle lid, and there we have it. Kettle clean done."
A bottle of lemon juice will only cost you 60p from Asda, making it the perfect cleaning hack for anyone on a budget.
People flocked to the comments to praise Lucy for sharing the trick, with many eager to try it out themselves.
One person said: "I've been meaning to google how to do this for weeks! Thanks for the tip".
Another commented: "I've been spending all that money on descalers all this time for nothing...how did I not know this". A third simply said: "LOVE THIS".
Having neglected their kettle cleaning duties for a while, one person even joked: "You have to clean your kettle? Learn something every day man".
