A woman has slammed "ridiculous" airline staff for ordering her to 'cover up' her 'inappropriate top' before boarding the plane.
An Alaska Airlines passenger took to Tiktok to share her disbelief as she claimed staff demanded that she cover up before flying.
The woman, turned the camera towards her low cut crop top and frayed denim shorts outfit in a video posted on the platform with the username @badbish1078.
The caption read: "Alaska Airlines just told me I had to 'cover up' if I wanted to get on the plane" Yahoo News reports.
She added she refused the request the cover up, but did not explain how she was still able to board the plane.
Viewers shared their outrage in the comments, with one branding the airline's request as 'ridiculous'.
Others posted the hashtag #CancelAlaskaAirlines but some claimed that women being refused entry to flights because of their outfits was 'common occurrence'.
Alaska Airlines states that passengers should use "good judgement" when choosing what to wear on board the their flights.
In a statement on its website the airline said: "The dress code on both Alaska and Horizon is casual, and the requirement is simply a neat and well-groomed appearance.
"Clothing that is soiled or tattered and bare feet are never acceptable.
"You are expected to use good judgment, but customer service agents will have the final authority to refuse travel for inappropriate attire or appearance."
But a spokesperson said the airline had launched an investigation into the alleged incident after admitting that this guest's outfit did not breach its dress code policy.
They said: “Alaska does not have a dress code policy that would prohibit this guest’s attire. We are sorry this guest felt uncomfortable and are looking into the incident to learn more.”
