Woman's terror as she discovers a snake slithering in her bed in the dead of night

A woman was given a scare when she woke in the dead of night and found a snake staring at her from under the bed covers.

Tasha Lane, 23, had been asleep with boyfriend Reece Parillon, 25, when she felt a wriggle.

Realising it was not her dog Harley, she opened the torch on her phone and peered under the covers and was shocked when she saw a snake peering back at her.

Terrified, she leapt out of bed screaming and woke up the household.

Tasha said: "I just leapt up and screamed. It was fully under the quilt. I shouted, 'There's a snake! There's a snake!'.

"I thought, 'Oh my god it's going to kill me.' Reece looked under the covers and then he leapt up too. I've never seen anyone jump so high.

"It was terrifying. Snakes weren't even on my fear list but they're right at the top now. It was just laying under the covers on Harley.

"The dog had been on one of my feet and the snake on the other.

“You just don't think you have to worry about snakes here."

Once she calmed down her partner’s mum came rushing in and explained the orange reptile belonged to neighbour Jade Forester and had been missing for months.

Jade, 37, said: "I don't know how he managed to escape, but it had been nearly three months.

"We ripped my house apart looking for him - we took all the skirting boards off downstairs - and after about three weeks we gave up.

"So it was a complete shock. My son was definitely happy we found him as he was devastated when we lost him."

Tasha claims the reptile, a corn snake called 10K was three quarters of the width of her king-sized bed.

She added: "It's funny now. I'm glad they've got it back. It belongs to their little boy.

“They posted it was missing on a Facebook page and it had completely slipped my mind."

Tasha added she thinks the snake came into her house when someone opened the attic hatch.
