A woman on social media has wowed cooking enthusiasts after sharing a quick and easy hack for peeling garlic cloves.
No matter how skilled you are in the kitchen, getting the skin off garlic cloves can be an annoying task. It sometimes feels like it takes years trying to get every last piece of skin off, not to mention it makes your hands smell for a long time afterwards.
There are a few methods that have stormed social media recently that claim to do the trick, such as crushing the cloves with the back of a knife or rolling it in a silicone press.
But one particular hack shared by @edeneatsreal on TikTok has been described as a 'game-changer' as there's very little fiddling about involved.
Eden is a TV host, chef and author who frequently posts helpful food hacks and recipes that are perfect for busy family life.
And her recent video about peeling garlic quickly has harnessed an impressive 171,000 views and over 6,400 likes, attracting comments full of praise for its simplicity.
In the clip, Eden explained: "We eat a lot of garlic in this house so we have to peel a lot of garlic in this house.
"I'm going to show you my little hack to get the garlic out as fast as I can."
She then shows off a full bulb of garlic before slicing the root off at the bottom, then placing it into an empty Tupperware container.
After placing the lid firmly on top, Eden then shakes the box aggressively for a couple of seconds - and when she opened the lid back up, each individual clove of garlic was now completely free of its skin.
Eden added: "Kill your garlic in a container today!"
In the comments, people were quick to thank Eden for sharing the hack and loved that it seemed to work so quickly and efficiently.
One person said: "Nice. I hate getting the garlic papers all over my sticky garlic fingers," to which Eden replied: "The worst!"
Another commented: "Nice! I needed this today! I was peeling garlic earlier and it took FOREVER!"
"Watched this. Life changed. Promptly followed you. Thank you!" penned a third.
