Woman's 'genius' trick to get her husband to do the laundry leaves people divided

While nobody enjoys doing housework, it has to be done in order to keep a clean and tidy home. But one woman has come up with a "genius" solution after her lazy husband stopped helping around the house. She explained how she has been planting money in her clothes pockets to get him to jump at the chance to do the laundry.

She told Reddit : "I put £5 or £10 a week in my clothes. He thinks he is getting one over on me because we both have a weekly budget. He doesn't know that he is part of my budget. If I even try to do the laundry he is like 'No, I got it'." The woman says the investment is "worth every red cent" - and wishes she thought of it sooner.

While most users laughed at her tactic, others shamed her husband for not pulling his weight in the first place.

One user simply said: "You're a f***ing genius."

Another user added: "Haha. He has sucker written all over his forehead. Makes me wonder what other sucker events occur in your household."

A third user said: "Now I feel like my girlfriend has been tricking me like this somehow... I'm going to have to watch her more. You women are geniuses though!"

However, one more argued: "Shouldn't he be helping out with the laundry anyway? He lives in the house, doesn't he? He wears clothes, doesn't he?

"It is frustrating that we, as women, still have this 'house wife' role despite going out to work full time like our husbands do."

In agreement, another said: "You shouldn't have to bribe your husband into doing the housework.

"He should be doing his bit with or without incentive considering he also lives there."
