A resident has been slammed for upholding 'double standards' after reporting a neighbour over her dog walking outfit.
The pet owner said she had not bothered to change out of her pyjamas when she nipped to the park by her apartment with her puppies. But she did wear a jacket over the top of her 'baggy shirt and PJ pants'.
Unfortunately, her outfit did not go down with her neighbour, who she suspects disapproved of the look because she wasn't wearing a bra.
The neighbour then reported the dog walker to their landlord - in a move that has been criticised online.
Explaining her side of the story in a now-deleted post to Reddit, the woman explained she didn't see a problem with her outfit for the quick, early morning outing.
But she soon realised something was wrong when her neighbour's girlfriend 'scowled' at her, and when she returned home she found her neighbour had escalated the issue.
"Well, this morning after I had done my usual routine with my pups, I got two texts from my landlord," she wrote.
"It was a mass text stating that 'Summer is coming, please dress in an appropriate fashion in the common areas' and another just towards me claiming that someone reported me for 'indecent exposure in the dog park' and she wants to meet with me asap to get my side of the story."
In response, Reddit users were quick to criticise the neighbour and his girlfriend, while they defended the dog walker, as several felt they'd enforced double standards.
One person replied: "You wore a shirt and pants. If this is acceptable for a man, it's acceptable for a woman. And moreover, why the hell does it matter if you're wearing a bra? It's just a man-made boob prison that women are socially pressured to wear.
"The choice to wear a bra is between you and your boobs. Anyone who makes it theirs is a sad person in need of a life."
Another said: "That's ridiculous. If you were small-breasted no one would've said anything. They don’t get to impose additional rules on you just because you have large breasts."
