Getting a tattoo on holiday can be a great memento of your time abroad. But its best to do some research into the artist and their work before committing to a design.
One woman learned this lesson the hard way after being left with an inking that looks completely different from the one she chose on a trip to Thailand. Nancy Gill had opted for a "cute fine line tattoo" back in 2020, featuring an infinity sign with a tiny plane incorporated into it.
Posting to her Tik Tok account @nancygill99, Nancy shared before and after pics of the inking to show just how much it has changed. According to the Mirro r, she wrote: "When you get a cute fine line tattoo in Thailand in 2020, [and it] looks like this two years later."
In the clip, which has since racked up more than 791.7K views, it is clear that the design has noticeably warped just two years on, with the lines having considerably thickened. It is difficult to make out what the blurred little airplane is supposed to be at first glance, with some commenting that it now looks more like a penguin.
The vid has sparked great alarm among Nancy's TikTok followers, one of whom declared they'd "cry" if such a thing ever happened to them. Another person remarked, "it looks like a nativity angel", while a third joked that it "looks more like a drunk fly now."
Luckily, Nancy was able to see the funny side of things, joking with one follower that she'd "always wanted a Pingu on my ankle."
