A woman has told of her air fryer trick which she says transforms cheap croissants into something which tastes "a million times better". TikTok user Ayni says using the device to cook the breakfast treat makes a big difference to the taste.
In her clip she explains: “These croissants you can get, the cheap ones, I think you get about eight in a packet in Tesco or any supermarket. I’m going to show you how to elevate them.
"So cut it open. I'm going to put some chocolate hazelnut spread but obviously put whatever filling you want in them. I'm popping them in the air fryer for a couple of minutes each side."
She then opens the drawer of the air fryer to show delicious-looking, golden brown croissants. She says: "Lovely and crispy. Just like a fresh croissant.
"I'm going to sprinkle some icing sugar over and honestly, this now is like a million times better. A lovely, gooey, chocolatey centre. Give it a go."
Her followers were quick to welcome the tip. Shifah said: "I always have them filled with chocolate or biscotti but this looks divine. I will deffo try this version. Yummy." Pam said: "OMG. I wish I hadn't seem this...now I have to try it.."
Rosie3388 said: "Looks better than most of the stuff you get in cafes tbh! Hope you enjoyed." And Nikkie added: "Looks beautiful too."
Some had suggestions to make her dish even better. User 981092 said: "I have them with cold ice-cream." Charlie suggested: "I fill them up with Nutella with a calpol syringe and it works really well!"
Several suggested adding banana while another user went savoury suggesting: "Cheese, ham and sun-dried tomato is so good too! Air fryer melted cheese crispy ham."
And it was even good news for those watching their weight. Gulsey said: "Omgosh what are you trying to do to me. I miss these." Ayni replied: "Oh sorry! Your're doing Slimming World aren't you? How many sins would this be. It's worth it."
Gulesy added: "Yes I am. Just checked. It's 8.5 for the croissant and 1.5 per tsp for the hazelnut spread! It's definitely doable!!!"
