If you're prone to getting greasy hair quickly after showering, then listen up - this may just be the perfect hack for you. Many people have to wash their hair daily to keep the oiliness at bay or choose not to wash it daily and instead opt for a ponytail the next day, but thanks to one woman's 'accidental' discovery, clean-looking hair for days could be on the horizon for you.
Alex James who goes by @_alexjames on TikTok claims to have 'cracked the code' when it comes to hair washing after spraying some dry shampoo on her hair - but then getting sweaty afterwards.
Alex explained that she gets greasy hair very quickly, but has 'accidentally' discovered a way that works for her to keep her hair fresh for at least another three days after she showers.
She said: "I get greasy hair the same day that I wash it. I can shower in the morning and by the time I go to bed my hair is an oil bomb."
Alex explained that she'd tried multiple different ways to try and get her hair to get under control such as masks, training it during the pandemic and more - but the only method that works is dry shampoo, and water in a spray bottle.
She explained: "I was on my way to school after dry shampooing my hair, and I was sweating because I was late to class. When I got to class my hair was a little damp from sweat. By the time my hair dried, it was clean. And it stayed clean for another three days. I used to have to shower my hair every single day."
So, in order to recreate the cleanliness, she bought a spray bottle that she fills with water to replicate the sweat, and now wets her hair when she's put dry shampoo on it.
Alex continued: "I do this before I go to bed on the day that I shower and it makes my hair last for three more days!"
People wanted to try the hack immediately as they were also suffering with greasy hair after showering.
One wrote: "Girl!!!! I have to try this! My hair is the exact same and I am soooo tired of having to wash it every day or put it up on the second day!"
Another sympathised, commenting: "The only people who think the 'training' method works are people who have never dealt with the level of greasy hair people like us deal with."
One excitedly said: "I HAVE BEEN WAITING!! I’m about to try this! I have the same exact issues! I can’t not-not wash my hair every day or I could fry chicken at KFC!"
"Girl if this works on my hair you're my new best friend!", someone gushed.
