A recent incident in Florida showcased the quick thinking and resourcefulness of a woman who found herself in a dangerous situation. The Volusia Sheriff's Office shared details of a 911 call where the woman cleverly disguised her distress by pretending to order a pizza.
During the call, the woman subtly conveyed her urgent need for help without alerting her attacker. Dispatchers were able to use technology to pinpoint her location, despite her initial reluctance to disclose it.
Upon arriving at the scene in the rural town of Pierson, deputies heard cries for help and discovered a man attempting to assault the woman. The victim's emotional relief upon being rescued was palpable, expressing gratitude for her deliverance.

The suspect, identified as Luis Diego Hernandez-Moncayo, was found to be in the U.S. illegally from Mexico. Hernandez-Moncayo had applied for asylum just a day before the incident occurred.
Chitwood emphasized the severity of the charges against Hernandez-Moncayo, including attempted sexual battery, battery by strangulation, and false imprisonment. The suspect is currently in custody with an immigration detainer from the U.S. Border Patrol.
