A woman has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a van near Rochdale.
Emergency services responded to reports of the crash in Market Street, Whitworth, at about 2.30pm today (Tuesday). The woman, a pedestrian in her 70s, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Eyewitnesses reported seeing an air ambulance land near to the scene this afternoon.

Market Street was shut for several hours between the junctions of Healey Corner and Tonacliffe Road following the incident. The road has since reopened.
A spokesperson for Lancashire Police said: "We were called at around 2.30pm today (Tuesday, July 11th) to reports of a collision between a pedestrian and a van on Market Street, Whitworth.
"We attended with colleagues from the North West Ambulance Service and found a woman, aged in her 70s, with serious injuries.
"The road has been closed and will remain shut while collision investigation officers attend. In the meantime we are asking people to avoid the area and use alternative routes where possible."
