Woman rushed to hospital after rescue from crash on Greater Manchester street

A woman has been rushed to hospital after being rescued following a crash in Tameside. Emergency services were called out to Hill Street, Ashton, at the junction with Bentinck Street at around 5pm today (January 20).

Firefighters from Ashton and Stalybridge were sent out to the scene, following a collision involving two vehicles. Specialist equipment was use to rescue the woman, before she was taken to hospital in an ambulance.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: “Just after 5pm this evening (Friday, January 20), one fire engine from Stalybridge fire station along with the Technical Response Unit from Ashton were called to reports of a road traffic collision involving two vehicles on Hill Street, Ashton-Under-Lyne. The crews arrived quickly at scene.
