Woman rushed to hospital after emergency services scrambled to crash in Bury

A woman was rushed to hospital following a crash in Bury. Police and firefighters raced to the scene on Sunny Bank Road in Unsworth this evening.

Firefighters freed a woman from a car. She was treated by paramedics and taken to hospital.

The fire service were called at 5.30pm and spent about an hour at the scene.

A fire service spokesperson said: "At around 5.30pm today (Saturday, October 29), firefighters were called to reports of a crash involving a car on Sunny Bank Road in Bury. One fire engine from Whitefield quickly attended the scene.

"Firefighters assisted one woman from the car who was transferred to the care of North West Ambulance Service and taken to hospital. Firefighters assisted Greater Manchester Police to make the area safe before leaving the scene around 6.30pm."
