Woman rushed to hospital after being hit by motorbike in Dublin city centre

A woman has been rushed to hospital after being hit by a motorbike in the city centre.

The crash happened on Butt Bridge at around 10.30am on Wednesday and the bridge was still closed at the time of publishing this afternoon. Gardai remain are at the scene.

A witness told Dublin Live a woman was hit by the motorbike as she walked across the road. She said: "The lady was crossing the road when she was hit by the motorbike.

"She appeared to be [badly injured]." Motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible.

A garda spokesman said: "Gardai and emergency services attended a traffic collision that occurred at approximately 10:50am today, Wednesday, November 9, 2022 on Beresford Place, Dublin 1. A pedestrian and a motorbike were involved in this incident.

"One person was conveyed to the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital for treatment of injuries sustained as a result of this collision. The road involved in this collision remains closed at this time while the scene is being attended."
