A Michigan woman recently shared her harrowing experience of being randomly attacked by a man on a bicycle after being dropped off by her Uber driver in Detroit. The incident occurred as the woman, identified as a 27-year-old named Morgan Catton, was leaving downtown Detroit to meet a friend at around 10 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 13. Catton recounted that as she walked down the sidewalk, a man on a bicycle approached her and suddenly grabbed her by the neck, throwing her to the ground and repeatedly punching her in the face without uttering a word.

Following the assault, Catton managed to contact 911 and seek help. She was subsequently taken to a hospital where she received stitches in her left eye and mouth, along with undergoing CT scans and other tests to assess her injuries. Fortunately, she did not sustain any broken bones, despite the severity of the attack.

Detroit police have indicated that the assault appears to have been a random act. The suspect is described as a man in his 40s or 50s, standing around 5 feet, 8 inches tall, and was riding a dark blue or gray bicycle at the time of the incident.

In response to the incident, Catton has set up a GoFundMe page titled 'Support Morgan's Recovery from Assault' to help cover her medical expenses and raise awareness about the attack. She expressed concern for the safety of other women, hoping that the perpetrator will be apprehended before causing further harm.

Uber, the ride-sharing company that transported Catton to her destination, has reportedly reached out to her following the traumatic event. The investigation into the assault is ongoing, with authorities urging anyone with information to come forward to assist in identifying the attacker.
