Woman praised for 'ultimate revenge' on neighbour who kept stealing her parcels

A woman got the 'ultimate revenge' on her nuisance neighbour who kept stealing her mail. When she isn't home to take her parcels immediately, she claimed her upstairs neighbour takes them as their own.

While she doesn't order anything to the house of significant value, she is fed up of having to replace her craft supplies. Taking to Reddit, she said: "I've suspected that my upstairs neighbour has been stealing some of my mail.

"I buy a lot of things online like books and craft supplies and every now and then there's been small things that were meant to arrive on a certain day that never did.

"One day I caught her wondering around my front door and when I asked her what she was doing she said 'Oh, I was looking for something I think I dropped into your yard.'

"I got surveillance cameras installed a while ago which were not noticeable to my neighbours.

"The camera that's pointed at my front door isn't visible from the driveway - you can only see it if you're in my backyard."

Wanting to catch them in the act, she set up a "booby trap" - and her light-fingered neighbour fell for it right away.

She said: "I purchased a few postage boxes and made up a few booby traps for her.

"The first one was a glitter bomb. I set up the box to make sure she would get glitter to the face as soon as she opened it, I packed it to make it look like a postage parcel, then sat it at my front door.

"About 20 minutes later I saw her walking to my front door. She looked around then picked up the box and walked away.

"My only regret is that I didn't get to see her reaction when she got a face full of glitter.

"I haven't noticed any other mail going missing after that but she will regret it if she does it again. The second trap will be much worse."

While most users praised her for getting revenge, others said they would have done much worse in her position.

One user said: "Great revenge! Too bad you don't have a video of her opening the box. Have you seen each other since then? I wonder how she will react next time she sees you."

Another user added: "If you get evidence of her stealing actual mail she would have some very serious legal issues."

A third user said: "Your neighbour sounds like a real piece of work."
