Woman pleads not guilty to murder of Kasey Anderson

The woman accused of killing Kasey Anderson has pleaded not guilty to his murder.

Mr Anderson, 24, was stabbed in the chest and leg at around 6.30pm on Carr Lane East in Croxteth on March 11 this year. He was rushed to hospital and remained in a critical condition for more than two weeks, but died as a result of his injuries on March 31.

Natalie Bennett, of Carr Lane East, appeared before Liverpool Crown Court today (June 9) via video link to HMP Styal, wearing glasses and a patterned blouse. She pleaded not guilty to Mr Anderson's murder.

A trial had been scheduled to begin on September 4. However, this has been moved to September 25 and is expected to last five to seven days.

Ms Bennett, 46, was remanded in custody.

Following Mr Anderson's death, his family said in a statement: "We will miss our crazy Kasey - he was a huge part of everyone’s lives.

"Every single person who met him has a story to tell. He always made everyone laugh and left a mark on everyone he met.

"Our hearts will be broken forever. He did not deserve a second of this.

"He will be missed by everyone in the community. The loss of Kasey has brought everyone down to their knees.

"As a family, we would like to thank all the staff at Aintree Hospital who looked after Kasey and ourselves as a family. We are also so grateful to the whole community for the love and support they have given to us as a family."
